A violinist, Matt performs with the North State Symphony and appears regularly in the Bach Festival at CSU, Chico. He has written for Christian News Northwest and Discipleship Journal. Kregel published his first novel, Fallen (2008), and his book on evangelism, The Diversity Culture (2009). He blogs at Tritone Life, commenting on theology, the arts, and contemporary issues. Matt graduated with his Ph.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Christianity and the Arts (2017).
Matt married his wife Bridget in 1992, and they have two boys, Dylan and Malcolm. They all enjoy hanging out at the coast, taking long walks, and watching Phineas and Ferb.
